Worship Team

The CACHS worship teams are groups of students that have volunteered to lead worship before every assembly.  Showing great leadership, these groups practice on their own time, pick songs and bring the school into each assembly praising God. These talented individuals range from piano and guitar players, violin, drums and of course vocals. They are an important part of bringing  the student body into focus at the start of the assembly as well as properly briinging the assembly to a close. We appreciate all their efforts and encourage anyone to come and help out.

Student Council

The student council here at CACHS is a made up of two representatives from each grade, a secretary, treasurer, vice-president and a president.  We plan events for the school that include hot lunches, dances, fundraisers, spirit days, Valentine’s Day Matchmaker, an annual ski/snowboard trip, as well as help out at the annual Grade 9 pizza night in the spring.  So far in 2011 we’ve had a Fall Celebration dance, a Comfy day, and a Subway hot lunch.  We've got a lot of ideas planned for the year including a major fundraiser for an organization called Invisible Children in December 2011.

Fashion Show

This year’s Fashion Show is in the planning stages but the date has been set for Friday, April 27, 2012. Watch for details to be posted as the plans come together. Each year the students choose a charity and raise funds by selling tickets to the Fashion Show. Dessert is provided with items for silent auction and door prizes given out. Students and staff model clothes from many business in Ponoka, Lacombe and Red Deer. All funds raised are given to the chosen charity.

Last year’s Fashion Show raised $5,798.55 for STARS!  STARS Board Member Rod Kennedy who spoke at the Fashion Show stated, “That is absolutely fantastic!  Clearly they (the students) understand about caring for others in need.  On behalf of STARS please extend our sincere thanks for going to such a great effort to do this.  It clearly was a true team effort.”

Drama

For the most part, Drama productions have been tied to a drama class.  Only for a few years did we complete a production with only volunteers.  Over the years, the classes have usually had the help of other students and adult volunteers.  The productions were at first hosted at the Lacombe Composite High School in their theatre, but because of renovations there, the last number of plays have been produced with a stage in our gymnasium.  Stages, costumes and props have all been created by the classes and local volunteers.  We would like to thank any and all who have been a part of our audiences through the years and look forward to hosting more of you in the future.

The following is a list of the productions and the years in which they were presented.
