Worship Teams
The CACHS worship teams are groups of students that have volunteered to lead worship before every assembly. These groups lead the students in praising God. These talented individuals include vocalists and instrumentalists, using the piano, guitar, violin and drums. They are an important part of bringing the student body into focus at the start of the assembly as well as bringing the assembly to a close. We appreciate all their efforts and encourage any interested student to come and participate.
Student Council
The Student Council is a student driven committee consisting of a teacher liaison and elected members, which include a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and two student representatives from each grade. The Student Council works to build community within the school through a variety of activities such as hot lunches, dances, spirit days, and an annual ski-snowboarding trip. They also recognize that CACHS is part of a bigger community and run fundraisers for local and international organizations. Each year they also plan activities for the annual Grade 9 Pizza Night, welcoming new students into the community.
Community Involvement
Being involved in our local and global community is an important component of a CACHS education. Following Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 12: 31a “Love your neighour as yourself”, CACHS students are encouraged to live out their faith by serving others both near and far. CACHS students can be found serving their community at Circle of Friends weekly community dinner, Building Blocks Thrift Store, FCC Drive Away Hunger Campaign, Lacombe Hospital, Missions Thrift Store, and other Central Alberta involvements. Outside of Central Alberta, CACHS has held fundraising events for CPAC Soccer, Cystic Fibrosis Canada, EduDeo Ministries (Nicaragua), Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Make A Wish Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, STARS Air Ambulance Foundation, and Stollery Hospital.
